It’s Been Over A Year

I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since my last blog. Time passes by so quickly.

It’s the Easter holidays, I’m in Year 13 and probably going to University to study Games Design. I got back yesterday from a trip to Venice.

Updates from my last blog:

1. I actually have a MacBook now. 13.3″ Aluminium, it’s awesome. Hopefully the first of many Apple products in my lifetime.
2. Last year I got B, C, C and a U (Physics) in my AS Levels. My A Level exams are in a month or so.
3. Quickly gave up on Techtora after discovering it was incredibly hard to generate any traffic to the website at all.
4. I never completed GTA IV but I occasionally play it for fun still.
5. I started playing World of Warcraft when the Lich King expansion was released, played up to level 80 and quit again as I couldn’t be bothered to gear up for any instances.
6. I played Rock Band, Guitar Hero 3 and I now own GH: World Tour and Rock Band 2. Quickly got bored of World Tour and Rock Band 2. Never completed either of them.
7. I still use Digg.com daily but stopped watching Diggnation 5 or so months ago.
8. I still use Twitter.com and now also Plurk.com
9. My Les Paul 1960’s Gold Top started to crack so we sent it back and they sent me a 2008 Standard Gold Top (it’s awesome).
10. I now also play Bass guitar. I have a Squier P Bass Special.
11. I have two Marshall Amps (One for bass and one for guitar!).
12. Pre ordered Green Days newest album which is 21st Century Breakdown.
13. I still don’t have an iPhone yet.
14. Blink 182 are back together!
15. I have tickets for Rise Against and Billy Talent while i’m away in Florida.

This year and early next should be a good year for music with releases from pretty much all of my favourite bands Green Day, Sum 41, Blink 182, Good Charlotte, Billy Talent, Lostprophets and Muse. I really dislike the Underclass Hero album now, I think I forced myself into liking it because it was just Sum 41 but now I’ve realised that it’s really bad and not Sum 41 at all. Still hoping the next album will be good after hearing it will be a cross between DTLI and Chuck but definately not getting my hopes up.

Exams Over + Other Things

Quite alot of new updates since my last blog. Lists seem to work.

1. My exams are over, most people have another week of exams though so Im quite lucky. Im quite sure Business and ICT went quite well, Media I think ill get a B if i’m lucky but Physics is most certainly a Fail or an E.
2. Started the technology website with Oliver called Techtora
3. Lanzarote was such a long time ago, It feels like it never happened! But it was freakin’ awesome.
4. 44% of my way through GTA IV.
5. Obviously I stopped playing World of Warcraft.
6. Ordered Rock Band - Just the game though because Ill use my Guitar Hero 3 controller, starting a “band” with some friends from the Netherlands.
7. Just changed the Blog theme to make things a little different.
8. Still whoring Digg.com and watching Diggnation which is always awesome - downloaded an episode of The Totally Rad Show but kind of sucked which was a shame! They all tried to speak at the same time, wasn’t very funny, games/movies they reviewed were kind of boring (but obviously that wasn’t their fault) and how can they have only just seen Top Gear?! Its insane.
9.Started using Twitter.com alot aswell now, follow me if you want!

New Technology Website? & Is Digg Corrupt?

Whats new, whats new..

Well first of all, myself and Mr.Devine plan to be starting a new technology news website called (Edit: Im not permitted to provide the name quite yet. Woops!) which we plan to be informing you of the latest tech news when it hits the web. Hosting and Domains have been purchased, just waiting for them to get confirmed and we shall be on our way in creating a tech revolution.

I’ve been thinking for a while about how corrupt Digg.com is, although I do love the site very much its quite evident that 50% of most storys “diggs” are from people who didn’t actually read the story. I don’t have much proof on this so forgive me if I’m wrong but the story I submitted that got popular known as “Absolutely INCREDIBLE Short Film Created by One Person!” aquired a total of 3857 diggs from users. Although according to the YouTube (Under the links section on that particular videos page) only 1744 people clicked to view the video from Digg. I know this includes the clicks from users that were directed to Diggs built in video player but im not sure if this includes clicks that went directly to the YouTube page, although I assume it does. Basically, i’ve done alot of assuming.

But even if my figures arn’t correct id have to say an absolute minimum of 10% (Maybe even a minimum of 20%!) of all diggs on storys on the front page are from users who havn’t read the story, just trying to get their rating up on the “Top 100 Diggers”. I do know people who do this, no names (Alex).

In other news, im off to Lanzarote for a week now with Sian.

Edit: Ah shit, I forgot to mention, I reactivated my World of Warcraft account again 2 days ago because I managed to complete all of my Xbox games and I was incredibly bored. So that’s keeping me occupied in my spare time (Until GTA IV gets here!).
